The nuts with the highest amount of phytic acid are: Almonds - 9.4% phytic acid. Walnuts - 6.7% phytic acid. Brazil nuts - 6.3% phytic acid. Webbwheat germ, wheat bran, beans, peas, lentils, peanuts, and other plant foods containing phytates; egg protein (from both the white and the yolk); minerals that compete with iron for absorption, like calcium, zinc, magnesium, and copper; tea, coffee, and cocoa; and certain herbs, including peppermint and chamomile.
