The TR8620 has Up to 4800 x 1200 dpi print and 1200 x 2400 dpi (Optical) scan. Edit: I also see that the TR8620 does not have duplex scan, which is very important to me. Seems like the 922 is a lot better - no?

Switch setting to Photo Paper (even if you're using plain paper) , select MATTE Photo paper, save the settings. Now try printing again. The printer defaults to PGBK for text, lines etc - unless it thinks they are part of a photo. So, you can force a Canon printer to use BK ink instead of PGBK by telling it that you are printing a photo onto plain paper. csc labour registrationWebIt is doubtfully possible that re-seating the PGBK cartridge in its place, or replacing it, might cure this nozzle misfiring tendency.
