Web1 day ago · The reason behind it is that a prefab should work anytime you drop it in any scene and you cant be sure that there is a coin text object in there, especially not THAT coin text object you want to drag in. So a prefab needs everything it needs in the prefab. There are several options if you want to update the UI with the collected coins. I would instead find the instance from the prefab when this one is instantiated, with a method like findobjectoftype, or gameobject.find. You need to do it during playtime, unless all the enemies are already in the scene when you're setting it up (in which case you'd need to do it to an instantiated enemy and then copy paste it).
